Decoding and Modelling

  1. Adapted Brain Modeling Toolkit (BMTK) for Neurostimulation:

  2. The team modified the BMTK model to simulate neurostimulation, revealing a potential 4x improvement in resolution in a 2D space, and up to 6x improvement in 3D simulations based on principal component analysis (PCA).

  3. All Tests Using Directional Current Steering:

  4. The results so far are based on using directional current steering to shape stimulation patterns. The team plans to extend the approach to other stimulation techniques.​

This indicates promising progress in improving the resolution of brain implants for vision restoration using computational modeling and neurostimulation techniques.
